Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept my insurance?
I am currently in-network with BCBS and Aetna insurance. If you have a health insurance policy with a different provider, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. I cannot guarantee that superbills will be accepted, but am committed to supporting you in getting reimbursed!
How do I know if I qualify for a sliding scale slot?
Under the “Rates” tab you can find a guide to help you determine which tier of my sliding scale you qualify for. I do not require proof of income or other documentation to prove qualification. The sliding scale is based in equity. Those who are able to afford a higher rate help make it possible for me to offer services to those with fewer resources and privilege at a more accessible price.
Sliding scale slots are limited. If all slots are full, you will be added to my waitlist and contacted via email when there is an opening.
How does the pay-what-you-can sliding scale slot for QTBIPOC work?
I offer one pay-what-you-can slot to queer and trans black/indigenous/people of color. If you are both queer/trans and a person of color in need of ED/food/body image support please reach out about availability. This slot’s cost is non-specified and flexible meaning it can be varied session to session.
Do I need an official eating disorder diagnosis?
No! While some of my clients do have diagnosed eating disorders, many of them don’t! I love working with anyone who is curious about changing their relationship with their body through food. Many insurance policies cover some amount of nutrition counseling without an official eating disorder diagnosis.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made less than 24 hrs in advance are subject to a late cancellation fee of 50% of the appointment fee, with a maximum cancellation fee of $50. Please notify me via email if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
Can we meet in-person/virtually?
I am currently seeing all clients virtually as my office was flooded during hurricane Helene and it has been difficult to find a new, affordable space. I hope to have access to an in-person space again soon!
How often do we meet?
I see most client on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Frequency of meeting varies client to client based on need, availability, capacity, and affordability. I typically like to see new clients 1x/week for the first 4-6 weeks.
